Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I know, it’s been over a week since Thanksgiving, but with family and Formula, we’ve been as busy as ever! First off, we’d like to thank Woodstock’s Pizza in Davis for helping us to receive donations! Secondly, our design review was over the weekend and things are starting to look better for the big project!
And now, a chassis update:
This year, we decided to abandon last year’s design for the impact attenuator. The previous design was an aluminum honeycomb tower, however due to resources we decided that the standard BSCI impact attenuator was a more suitable choice. The FSAE rules for 2014 state that this alternative is allowed, and that test data for the Impact Attenuator Data Report need not be submitted with it. This means that the team can save time and money for other tasks at hand. Here’s what our attenuator will look like:
